Overview
Piña Coladice - Where Connect-4 meets Yahtzee! Use your dice to choose where to place your mark, score points, and win!
How to Play
The game board is a 4x4 grid of "coasters". The first player starts with 1 point, the second with 2, etc. Players take turns rolling dice to match the combinations shown on the coasters (pair of twos, small straight, all evens, sum greater than 9, etc.). They have three rolls to do this and can choose dice to reroll. Then the player places their cocktail token on the coaster that matches that combination. Points are scored according to the number on the coaster, plus one for each adjacent coaster (orthagonally or diagonally) occupied by that player.
If there is no non-occupied combination that matches the roll, the player must pass.
End of Game
If a player makes a "Piña Coladice" (placed tokens to form a row, either vertically, horizontally, or diagonally), the game ends immediately and that player is the winner.
Otherwise the game end is triggered when either...
- A player has scored 20 points or more.
- A player has no more cocktail tokens to place.
After all players have had the same number of turns, the winner is the player who earned the most points. In the event of a tie, the player who last placed their cocktail token is the winner.
"Happy Hour" Variant
An additional coaster is added aside from the main board. If a player has to pass on their turn, they must roll a die and do the corresponding action on the Happy Hour board, which has a 50% chance for positive or negative consequences.
