Therefore suggestion:
move 1 to 75: increase progress linearly
move 75: set progress to 50% (allow players to give up game)
In a single-round game progress could stay at 50% for further moves.
Also, in multi-round games:
Set progress between 50% and 100% if a player has won x rounds out of y.
Examples
1/3 won: Progress 50% + 1/3 of 50% = 50+16.67 = 66.67%
2/3 won: Progress 50% + 2/3 of 50% = 50+33.33 = 83.33%
or
1/2 won: progress 50% + 1/2 of 50% = 50+25 = 75%
Your bug has probably been fixed already, or was linked to a temporary failure of BGA service.
In any case, when filling a bug report, make sure to have an explicit title linked to the incident (ex: with error message), so other players can recognize it and vote for it.
