The minor tl;dr is :
When generating map , algorithm doesnt identify strengths of each factions in correlation with all of the following between each other : map, round boosters, basic tech tiles positions, advanced tech tiles (which ones have been dealt) and their positions, research track, final scorings and round scorings.
That itself is not a shortcoming IF map rotation is allowed, but is a huge one if map rotation is not allowed.

We may or may not implement something similar at a future date, but for now we'll restate our advice to use the game modes that you like best. If you play at a a very high experience level (<10% of the the BGA userbase does, and I'm not one of them), the random map is probably not for you. Fortunately, there are other (official) modes that still work well.
