I find pressing ctrl-F5 and refreshing a couple of times sometimes getting it to work. The game itself says "Updating Game situation..." but the title of the tab says "You must play a card".

Even after the game ended, the system "thought" the game was still underway and would not let me play any other live games on BGA

As part of Bounty Hunting 19826, there is a significant update to add 3 and 4 player capability, and move many game implementation elements to the latest BGA framework, that is in review. Hopefully that new version will also resolve these kind of "Updating Game situation" errors seen in the current version.

I clicked on card I had to play right after other person played. Said it wasn't my turn and than it wouldn't let me playatall

Had this exact same issue with a game recently. Table #736257504

Game was unplayable and had to be quit.

AurynFox, that error can occasionally occur if the BGA server is being slow or glitchy, and the acknowledgement message for an action (e.g. playing a card) doesn't get back from the server to your browser. I assume you tried to refresh (F5), hard refresh (Ctl-F5), and maybe tried another browser or machine (e.g. phone) to resolve the issue. Sadly, there isn't anything to be done in the code to remedy these network / server glitches.
